ewemon - what's the skinny on that version?

This is the version that has the remastered album, second disc is outtakes and the last 2 are a KSAN concert from the Winterland which is really good.

I personally still prefer the original Dennis Drake version of the album on cd.

The outtakes for me are ok apart from the Early in the Morning track which is excellent.

Look out for the possible release of the Fillmore Concerts boxset.

Thanks for the info - just checked Amazon and the few they have are stupid expensive

CD [2000] - Ex New York Dolls David Johansen summons the spirit of the blues through the inheritance of American musicologist/folklorist Harry Smith.

This is a a beautiful album presenting David's 'Tom Waits' like vocals backed by mostly acoustic, bluesy guitars and/or jazzy guitar riffs and, sometimes a small combo. Smoky blues, folk: easy grooving roots music.

prefer the version from Nigel Kennedy...

Universal may do what they did for the Clapton 461 Deluxe and that was release the live album separately  If you want a copy badly try Hurricane Records Berlin as they have a few left.

The follow up to this one wasn't bad either. Not as good but not bad.

Ripped from the DVD.

A very nice atmospheric session.
