Horowitz '54 recording of Clementi Sonata pieces.

 

It's uncanny some of the riffs sound a bit like Beethoven. I can even hear a touch of Schubertian like repetitions. Horowitz's playing is laser sharp in his prime. Playful as well as amasing amount of control and finesse. These tunes got a lot going for it but I'd reckon they might get a tad dull without Horowitz's unique pianism.
