Black Sabbath - NEVER SAY DIE - on cd. C'mon lads!
Asia "Alpha" on vinyl.
Frank Zappa and The Mothers Of Invention - Weasels Ripped My Flesh - cd.
Great mostly unplugged double live Album at Benaroya Hall. "Black" sends shivers down the spine.
Dylan "Son of Steve" Howe's latest album, a reading of The Dame's Berlin period.
On CD, and very good it is too.

What do you think of it?
It's your second spin now .
Same setup as with Jasmine, how does it compare?
Cheers
Aleg
How does it score on the 'grunt' count? I so wish he could play without groaning along!
He still does it, I didn't count it though ;-)
cheers

The Durutti Column - Tempus Fugit.
On CD:-
My name is Hugo.

Sorry playing catch up
Earlier today ...
Panic Room - Skin on Spotify. Another recommendation by Spotify. Very good but they would be as there is a Mostly Autumn link there.
Followed by ...
Wishing Tree - Carnival of Souls. On Spotify. I really like this album.
then ...
Mostly Autumn - The Ghost Moon Orchestra. Also on spotify. A brilliant band I saw live at Cropredy a few years ago (OK quite a few).
Then ...
Paloma Faith - Fall to Grace. Ripped to FLAC.
And now ...
Hungry Lucy - Pulse of the Earth. Streaming FLAC. A really great album which gets better on each play. I plan to invest in their fan pack (all their albums and an EP) very shortly

I just listened to it again, yes he still hums......and in a way the first one was a more emotional experience for me then this one....., not saying this one is bad.....

I did not listen to the whole disc, just sampled the tracks and found them (relative to the first one) bland and not very inspiring. Perhaps they should have named the album 'Last Chance'..
Aleg and Bert,
Haden has exceptional duo recordings, way better than that, with Kenny Barron (Night and the City), Pat Metheny (Beyond the Missouri Sky), Chris Anderson (None but the lonely Heart), John Taylor (Nightfall) and Hank Jones (Steal Away).
All are highly recommended.

Cool, aloof and no guts.

Thanks for the recommendations.
I have all of those as well, but I want MORE ........ ;-)
I agree with your assessment of Last Dance. The tracks are OK, but not very inspiring or creatively exceptional.
One other double bass player I can recommend and which I listened to regularly lately, is Japanese Kiyoshi Kitagawa often in trio with Kenny Barron and Brian Blade on drums.
Very recommendable. CD's 'Prayer' and 'Ancestry' are easiest to find.
Cheers

Jethro Tull - Benefit.
A mint Green Chrysalis with red writing I picked up for £6 last week.

Explosions In The Sky - All Of The Sudden I Miss Everyone
Instrumental rock.
Jack White, "Lazaretto" Ultra LP. It is really, really quite odd - and not a little disconcerting - watching Side One play from the centre to the rm (ie backwards). Anyone know if this could damage your stylus? Anyway, sounds mighty fine.
