Have now moved on from glittery electro-pop and Weimar cabaret synth to The Durutti Column "Live in Bruxelles 13 August 1981" on CD because Vini Reilly's exquisitely melancholic guitar (and dreary singing) match the mood of this January day perfectly.

Randomly selected at random from the outer recesses of the collection - double CD by the former Bongwater mainman and Shimmydisc supremo:

How are you liking it?

It's very good indeed. I've played it a few times now and it's becoming one of my favourite Coltrane albums. When I have more time I'll post my findings on your Reissue thread but in short I think this ticks all the boxes. I just wish I could have ordered more from this series.

Had this a very long time indeed. One of the first CDs I bought. Quality of the recording is a bit weak in places (probably should look for a better version on CD) but I always enjoy the music.

JJ Cale Troubador

Doors LA Woman both on CD.

Steve - I agree about this album. I originally bought it on vinyl and many years later got it on CD to see if my opinion had changed. No. Still underwhelmed and I get bored well before the end.

Quest Ensemble - https://soundcloud.com/quest-ensemble

Bringing a unique take to the classical piano trio, this contemporary London based ensemble, Filipe Sousa, (piano), Tara Franks (cello), and Preetha Narayanan (violin), collaboratively create original work with a distinctive sound that captures their shared experiences and blends their diverse musical and cultural backgrounds.
With intriguing traces of Vaughn Williams, Steve Reich, and Esbjörn Svensson Trio, Quest Ensemble paint a unique and evocative musical landscape filled with lyrical melodic lines, rich harmonies, and interwoven rhythmic counterpoint.
Quest has been leading and collaborating on a range of exciting projects, including composition workshops, site-specific installations and commissions for dance and visual arts. They are currently writing their debut album to be released in January. I spoke to Preetha last night & she thinks their album will be delayed. It will be worth the wait though.
