Delighted to have found this band with their powerful music fronted by the wonderful voice of Sharon Den Adel. Not as strong an album as The heart of Everything, this is still great listening. I am avidly awaiting the arrival of their Black Symphony CD/DVD where they include a 60 piece orchestra and a choir of 20 for their live performance.

Room 335 album with Jeff Pocaro's groovy beat. ( actually that's what this album is good for. The rest is pretty cheesy )

24 year old Entremont plays 'Pictures'.
Quite a different pace from Richter. First I thought that the turntable was running slow. All the tunes are unusually dragged on, there is no sense of power.
This is less successful than his Rachminanov's 2nd with Lenny. There is no orchestra to hide behind so it's all on the soloist to make something out of Mussorgsky's colourful program.

First album to be played on vinyl today; Talking Heads "Speaking in Tongues". I've always thought of this as a remarkable album. All the tracks are simply great and their music has this timeless quality which makes it a joy to listen to so many years after the eighties. Not your average Stock Aitken & Waterman thank God!

Next up was Mumford & Sons "Sigh no more". I really like this rattling noisy music - it's .... charming? There's something about that banjo which makes the music complete.

Right now listening to their last album "Babel" :

"The Next Day" by David Bowie. Another of his rather uninspired releases ever since he lost the touch in the nineties. It's not a bad record, just a tad lacklustre. I rather liked "Black Tie White Noise" because it was so new and different, but from then on I rather put on something of the older music.
