Jack White "Lazaretto". Bought this recently but having a first listen now. There's both Hip Hop/Rap, metal, rock, blues and country/folk music in this mix. I quite like it!
How does everybody post this. When I copy it in it shows up on my IPAD and in the website. However when I look later with a normal computer I don't see the image anymore ?
Have you heard the Harnoncourt (with the Centus Musicus Wien)?
Kevin,
This is what's so fascinating about classical music. Just like hifi, one man's sugar is another man's vinegar.
Pinnock set is indeed bouncy but the problem is they all sound the same. ( I only have No.1-3 tho )
Klemperer set you find slow, to my ears, feels like a breathing pattern where I can feel the pulse of human. Maybe it's not cleanly played as Pinnock/TEC but I like the fact that they take off wigs and less white powder on their faces. At least to me anyways.
I haven't heard Harnoncourt's Brandenburg. You prefer Pinnock over it?
I think they're quite different, and both very good, but on balance I think I just about prefer the Pinnock Kuma. One of the least engaging Brandenbergs I've ever heard is the Karajan/BPO reading from the 1960s which is unbelievably ponderous to my ears, although I know some people love them.
Guess I like my Baroque with bounce!
Original French vinyl.

Your picture above looks fine
I didn't see this and already posted something on your wall...

I'll see your Workingman's Dead and raise you (on CD) a copy of Blues For Allah G
BBC Radio 4 is currently broadcasting the fifth episode of the gazillionth series of "I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue", which is still by far and away the funniest thing on radio.

Kevin,
I agree.
Very colourful and well fleshed out usual Karajan Cadillac ride. ( not thrilling but comfortable )
Speaking of brisk tempo, I like this Günter Kehr/Mainz Chamber Orchestra a lot.
This set never gets overly romantic or overtly emotional keeping in the straight faced Baroque tradition but each instrument has a solid bold stroke in that never gets nervous or precious sounding.
Featuring Chris Youlden, Paul Jones - Vinyl
Rachmaninov Preludes - Askenazy
A long time since I listened to this, I had forgotten how good it is.

Hi David
My favourite Genesis . Think I might have a listen later.
Fin's best to date! Hard Believer is one great song after another. Would love to see him live in concert!

Haim,
That's really cool indeed.
