Not sure what happened to my last post, but after Ummagumma and The Division Bell, a complete change of mood.

I've always been a big fan of Cowboy Junkies, but found this one more difficult to get into than the rest of their albums. It has grown on me, though:

MC900 Ft Jesus: "Too Bad". A brilliant 12" single from 1989 - a minor:

Original 1978 vinyl LP - because I fancied listening to some kick-ass live rock 'n' roll. I know there is a lot of controversy about how "live" this actually is, but I saw Lizzy in concert in 1978 and ca attest to the fact that they were an extremely tight, powerful live band:

It is a sbd recording of the CSNY gig of that evening from tapes made by the legendary Bill Halverson who worked on a lot of their early albums. It is unavailable for sale.

I'll put my brother on the case - and maybe I'll have a copy on CD one day!  Thanks for the info!

I could point you in the right direction but unfortunately it ain't allowed.

Apparently vocals and drums only everything else over dub in the studio. But it's still the best Lizzy album and one of the best almost live albums ever

Mahler Symphony 5, BBC Philharmonic, Juanjo Mena live from the Royal Albert Hall on BBC Radio 3 on my newly serviced NAT01/NAPST which my wife collected from my Naim Audio dealer today.

Beautiful! And I would never have expected 26 new capacitors to have made such a difference!!

Simply sublime.

Haim,

That's really cool indeed.

+1. First heard Leviev on Art Pepper's Live at Ronnie Scott's. He played beautifully, so I started looking for his other albums. First I've heard of this pairing with Haden, and would really like to find a copy. Thanks for posting this Haim!

ATB.

Hook,

I don't know how easy it is to get a copy of this recording which originally was released as an LP. My disc was sent by a friend from Japan. However, you have a couple of very good Milcho Leviev albums playing solo and duo with Dave Holland on the MA Recordings label. My favorites are:
