On CD:-

Jenny Lewis - The Voyager

Posted on: 09 August 2014 by Hmack

This new CD seems to have attracted mixed reviews from his fans.

I loved the original tracks/albums, but I like these acoustic covers every bit as much. An amazing truly wonderful 'one-off' musician:

Al I can say is these people aren't real fans. RT has been touring for ages avec , band, trio, duo, solo (usually acoustic). So if, like us they have been following over the years they would have heard most if not all these tracks acoustic. Great to have so many great songs on one album.

Many thumbs up from Mr & Mrs bigh.

Far from it, DrMark.  I think quite a few of us on here have been disappointed with the sound quality of this.  But since you picked it up used, you should console yourself with not having paid full price for it.  I only play the DVD version now. The footage is a distraction from the quality of the sound.

Galuppi's not so familiar piano music.

Still in recovery after our youngest had seven of her friends for a 'sleep-over' last night.

Thanks MDS - I have a difficult time thinking I will ever listen to it again. I have a "Best of Heart" CD and they do a live version of Rock-n-Roll that beats the pants off the one on this disc! (The bass on this version is very muddy and way too up front IMHO.)

Glad to know I am not alone in my assessment of the SQ.

Kaizers Orchestra "Violeta Violeta" . The first album in their trilogy about a girl kidnapped and taken abroad by her father to avoid she inherits her mother's psychic powers. Yet, mother and daughter are able to communicate while asleep. Weird, wonderful and brilliant!

Jimi Hendrix. People, Hell and Angels. On vinyl from 2013. Possibly the best 'new' music released in 2013.
