Ripped to FLAC from CD

I've loved Cowboy Junkies since their 'Trinity Sessions' album. Don't like this one quite as much but still worth a regular listen.

Haven't played any of my Green on Red albums for years, but they still sound good.

I won't disagree with you about Peter Green Hmack he is another favourite.

+1 have been a big fan since I first heard Albatross as a very young lad. Some of the Splinter Group music is also very good (generally the tracks where Nigel Watson takes a back seat) and the cds are really well produced and sound fantastic ripped and played through the nDac.

Could not agree more about Peter Green, topped only by Garcia for me as he was more creative for much longer. Disagree about Splinter Group though, I saw them twice and for me Peter Green was way past his best but had come back to playing which was great.

Listen to any F.Mac with Peter Green -

BBC   SESSIONS
GREATEST HITS
LIVE  IN BOSTON VOL 1-3
THEN PLAY ON
THEN PLAY ON REISSUE
COMPLETE BLUE HORIZON   SESSIONS
VAUDEVILLE YEARS
SHOW-BIZ BLUES
LIVE SHRINE 1969

or the Peter Green solo albums -

END OF   THE GAME
IN THE SKIES

One of my best ever gigs was Fleetwood Mac at the Nottingham Union Club in 1970/71 when the band was in it prime.

Unfortunately, I never go to see them (or Peter Green). I do like the Splinter Group stuff, but Peter Green (although still a great guitarist) is not the man (or guitar player) he once was.

+1 for Garcia - another of my favourites I never got to see live.

Hi CW. No, it's not a live album. My latest version (just played) is the 2003 re-master and part the excellent value 12 cd box set covering their studio years '69-87 which came out last year and can still be had new for £30. If they made a live album based around The Yes Album then I haven't seen or heard it. I still think it is their best album.

Pretty questionable film, but the music and the film made a great impression on me when I saw it as a student just before it got banned.

No, it didn't inspire me to join a gang of thugs and beat up innocent drunk tramps, but it did inspire me to buy my first half decent turntable - a Transcriptors Hydraulic Reference turntable which I still have in the attic gathering dust.

Interestingly, my original vinyl copy is by Walter Carlos, the re-issued CD version by Wendy Carlos. An interesting story behind this as well - I'll leave those of you who are not familiar with the music to puzzle this one out.

Saw the Grateful Dead 8 times in all 1974,1980,1990 all in the UK. Wished I had seen them in 1972 though.

Well Chuck Prophet is touring with his band again in October - well worth a visit.

I'm also eagerly awaiting the LP but haven't downloaded it yet - not sure how I store it on the Unitiserve... What do you think of Touch and Flee? Is it good? I really liked The Face Of Mount Molehill

After the first listening I think I still prefer the previous one. However, this is by no mean a bad album so maybe it's a grower...

Thanks Osprey - that sounds great! I think I read it's a little different in musical expression than the last one? Anyway, I'm really looking forward to it.

Agree the earlier album is for me also the preferred one

I see - but it's still good if I understand you correctly?

Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick

Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick. 5.1 DTS from the DVD via my AV system. Quality is brilliant (Just as I'd expect from Mr. Wilson) and the album itself is just as good as it ever was. Still got the HiRes (24/96) versions to listen to on the Qute later. DVD Audio Extractor strikes again!

bit out of line for me - but just got the remaining music from my ex wife...so am including it into the collection...

Continuing where I left yesterday with Nils Petter Molvær; sampling, a jazz vocalist, electronica and proper jazz musicians playing proper instruments such as guitar, trumpet and drums makes an exciting combination. Molvær has been a pioneer with his musical expression but has also been inspired by Miles Davis - clean tones and a the trumpet is portioned out rather than played to excess.

Pat Metheny Unity Band. I rather like his music and had the luck of going to his concert with The Unity Band last autumn. A truly great experience with lots of solos by the members of the band and also duets with Pat Metheny together with each of the band members in turn.

I was going to be "gifted" this album from my elder brother's best mate when I was 12 years old and listening to Adam and the Ants and Toyah. In the end they gave me the Black Sabbath "Greatest Hits" album. (I guess my brother, who was a 'punk', preferred to have a little brother who was a greebo rather than an hippy) I got into YES five years later after dropping acid with my best friend 'mad' Alan. My brother was not speaking to me by this time.

I've still yet to hear this one, it's a live one is it not?

The track "Clap" is a live recording but the rest is studio.
