James Taylor "New Moon Shine" (1991)
Barry Diament mastered CD rip via Hugo
On my second play because this really rocks and the SQ is very good. Played at high volume (SWMBO is away in Devon )
I love that album Joe, but It's Yes, the Yes Album, Fragile, Close to the Edge and Relayer which always grab my attention. How do you feel about Big Generator?
I'm spinning Fragile now. It's an original US pressing Atlantic SD7211 with PR deadwax. Love the music, but it always sounds a bit closed-in and top-heavy to me; could use a bit more heft on the bottom. Not sure I've spun Big Generator since I got my Naim gear? I'll give it a listen later tonight.
Jeff, Mr Fjeld,
My Internet connection is a total mess tonight, it takes hours to load the forum, and this thread in particular because of the numerous pictures coming from different sites. If you don't mind I'll come back to you tomorrow. Sorry about that.
Have a nice musical evening/night,
Maurice
Jenny Lewis "The Voyager" (2014)
ALAC via Hugo
Indeed I find Alec Viahugo's remasters are always the ones I gravitate to if possible, thanks for the heads up, hadn't realised this was one if his.

I think Wat would like this Mixcloud show...
http://www.mixcloud.com/ianfai...udy-dyble-interview/
This is the 134th edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. This time around it’s my great delight to present to you an interview I carried out with the legendary Judy Dyble. You’ll hear Judy talk about her life in music, pick some of her favourite tracks by other artists, and tell us about some of the things she might be doing in the near future. The show features music from Judy’s time with Fairport Convention and Giles, Giles & Fripp, plus several tracks from her wonderful solo career. If you want more details about the show past and present, including weblinks to where you can find more information about each artist, and the previous 133 episodes, go to www.epilepticgibbon.co.uk

Jeff,
I've been following Nick's music since The Birthday Party days. Push The Sky Away is a great album and it shows his more poetic and ardent side. Some of his albums are more melancholic and every single album by Nick and the Bad Seed is a cathartic experience. Some of my favourites are Tender Prey and Murder Ballads. There was also a side project called Grinderman, well worth listening to if you like something a littler "heavier".
Enjoy it!

10,000 Maniacs "MTV Unplugged"
A real test of speaker coherence that album. The S600 I had for a spell pulled it apart unfortunately (unfortunatalie).

Hi Graeme
I haven't been ignoring you. I have been contemplating your comment.
I rarely listen for "sound" related individual components and after your comment I needed to think about it a bit as I was listening. Also wasn't sure my comments were pertinent or would be taken seriously as I listen to supposedly "low-res" mp3 exclusively.
I have not listened to 10,000 Maniacs MTV very often, I know a bit about Natalie and the Maniacs.
As I was listening this a.m. to that selection, I loved the subtle interplay between the acoustic guitar and the mandolin and was a little surprised the named individuals were completely unknown to me. If you know of other recordings they are on I would love to know of those. Natalie's voice was sublime. These "parts" were not separate from the whole but easily focused on and "heard". The entire group, Natalie and the band and the support musicians were truly an ensemble. I enjoyed the selection immensely and it will be in the rotation with more regularity. I thought my modest Wadia/Ergos system presented it very well. Not sure others would agree, I rarely listen with others so just do my thing and it makes me happy.
I expect through your system it it very enjoyable.
Another Natalie disc I love is:
Her interaction with Gabrial Gordon, who plays guitar and sings the harmony vocals, truly amazing to hear. Unfortunately I have not found Gabrial's solo work to equal this. Listen to it if you have not. A wonderful disc.
