bass communion  -   on cd, retro ambient stuff, very early '90's, nostalgia.

Out of curiosity, I stuck this Blu-Ray disc, which contains a 5.1 mix of The Division Bell, in my £50 LG Blu-Ray player. This player is connected via coxial cable to a Canton DM 50 soundbase. Switched to "surround" mode, and with volume set at about 80, it sounds amazing - really immersive, great bass and as clear as a bell. Extraordinary.

Damn fine record! Went to see them (in Birmingham I think) when they were touring this - Paddy had turned into a effective showman by then & jolly good they were too.

This is, I believe, the only Sprout album I don't own. Now remedied, for the princely sum of 15p.

After the success with the Floyd, I tried another 5.1 (this time on DVD) via the Blu-ray player connected to the Canton in surround mode. Not quite as revelatory as the Floyd disc, but still pretty good:

~1p per song - now that's money well spent. You won't regret it!

Horowitz is not normally associated with Debussy's work except in his encore ( Serenade for the Doll ), I found he has included three Preludes from Book II in his first recording since his many years or hiatus.

He cleverly chose No.4-6. Each tune is very different from one another and showcase pianist's ability to render in many colours and phrasing to mimic specific scenery or to provoke certain feelings.

Spirited and animated yet sweet and gentle, he can turn on his emotions on a dime. I wished he played the rest of the Preludes!

Here is the Général Lavine - eccentric ( No. 6 ), in the style more or less, expected from Horowitz. He turns up the saturation a notch. Less pastel hued Debussy.
