Just listening to what RP has to offer this evening. It has proved to be a source of new music and musicians to me in the past and is one of the best stations out there.
Original vinyl bought at the market today. Side One is pretty classic King Crimson but I'd forgotten how pretentious side two was.
Fabulous new edition of The Best Years of our Lives! Some excellent previously unreleased stuff live at the Hammersmith Odeon from 1975. Love it!
Rory Gallagher - Deuce on first press vinyl.
Hi Res download. Through the Hugo this sounds less 'digital' and much better SQ than the reissue vinyl. Very surprising.
Farewell to Kings, Rush, ripped flac via Hugo, still superb after all these years

Hi dayjay. It's my favourite Rush and the first album of theirs I ever heard. I got it on 'cassette' from Britannia Music as part of their introductory offer. Wow it all seems so long ago ... The Hugo will have to wait for me I'm afraid but happy listening.

One of the best live albums ever. Unless you can name a better one?

Hi Russell, I was lucky as my first two albums, heard on the same day, were farewell to kings and Moving Pictures, there's no going back from that and I've been an addict ever since. Best wishes, David
Listening to Rachmaninoff's Symphony No.1 for the first time.
It might be more interesting to read about its background story than the music itself which is like a heavy Russian 4 course meal.
I think I need a longer gestation period to fully understand or appreciate this.
Dear Kuma,
Try the Symphonic Dances. I love that piece, but it is not quite typical Rach either!
Let us know how you get on!
ATB from George
For those not familiar with this guy he is Dylan Son in Law.
Recent Chrysalis reissue which was only £3.99 on Amazon. I don't know how this album passed me by.
Trower passed by a lot of people unnoticed. Most rock fans under the age of 50 won't have heard of him. Pity really, his first three albums are exceptional. I grew up listening to Sabbath, Purple, Zeppelin and Trower, I definitely listen to more Trower albums than the other three put together. Not saying Trower is better, simply still enjoyable 40 years later.
But what do I know, I listen to Shakatak and Antony and the Johnsons.

Agreed re first three Robin Trower albums, but I would add the live album as well.
Vinyl. One of my favourite live albums.
Edit. Clive, beat me to punch by 7 seconds.

And not forgetting 'Caravan to Midnight' of course. I will have to have a RT evening once I get over my current Wagner obsession.

I've not heard that one. Thanks for the tip, I'll search it out at the weekend.
Streaming some old classic...
On vinyl. Fine LP.
Good man. One of my favourites.
I had the pleasure of meeting the band as I promoted a couple of their gigs. Never thought that the album did them justice but the ep did. September one of my all time fav trax.
Yes, I saw them several times back then and the EP is 'better' in that it does capture them slightly looser. Now I will have to go and dig out one of my other favourite bands of the time, the wonderful Moon.

Strange that the recent re-issue only appears to be on vinyl at that price.
