The Two and Three Part Inventions will never be widely known and yet they present us with the full glory of Bach's inventiveness. Myself I prefer them on the harpsichord, but that is fine.

Walcha was the man for this on the harpsichord ...

George,

I have been listening to the Symphonic Dances on and off. It is much easier to follow and feels more mature work than his Symphony 1.

That said, some of the rendition sound like a soundtrack from a *Gunga Din*. I would imagine that this is a sort of program that very easy to make a mess out of.

Ashkenazy's Symphonic Dances is jazzy and rhythmic. He adds a friendly and earthy appeal and keep it real.  Better than a few others I have been listening to.

Furtwängler's Franck's D Minor Symphony. Later '53 Recording.
His '45 live recording with the Vienna Phil. was the last recording before he fled the Germany.

Good man. One of my favourites.

I had the pleasure of meeting the band as I promoted a couple of their gigs. Never thought that the album did them justice but the ep did. September one of my all time fav trax.

Yes, I saw them several times back then and the EP is 'better' in that it does capture them slightly looser. Now I will have to go and dig out one of my other favourite bands of the time, the wonderful Moon.

Moon is that the Psychedelic London Rock band?

A very nice UK first press of Bridge of Sighs.

Taste - On The Boards UK first press vinyl.

I still can't decide which of the Taste albums I prefer.

Remaster CD ripped. Quite good!

Posted on: 22 August 2014 by Mr Fjeld

Last day of the summer break and listening to music seems like the perfect way of relaxing.

Now listening to "Superunknown" by Soundgarden. For me the very best rock album of the grunge.

Remaster CD ripped. I think it's my favourite Beatles album.

This must be my rock music day. Foo Fighter will do just fine.

Having seen them live last night, and having enjoyed "Utopia" and "Lovely Head" immensely, it seems apposite to play this, on vinyl:

Hi Mr Fjeld

Well, it's my least favourite out of the 3 I own. "One by one" and "wasting light".

I love the other 2 though. Probably need to get more material as I do like the band

Is that 21 times, Kev?  Miss Goldfrapp has definitely cast a spell on you.

I feel much the same way! Every now and then a cover shows up which is of a u unique character and rightly become famous - and one almost hopes the music is just as good. This album is like that. Not bad but not their best. Still one of the best covers I've so far
