At the beginning of the year there were strong rumours that the next release in the bootleg series would be the New York sessions recordings of these songs, but so far - nothing. Does anyone know if and when?

I've heard some of the tracks on YouTube (different to those on the bootleg series 1-3) and I'd say they might even be better than the released version.

Nothing yet and they are also working on a Rolling Thunder DVD/Blu Ray supposedly.

Cantelli/Philharmonia: Daphnis et Chloe.

Grand and fresh. Feeling of standing on the edge of the clif watching ocean. Fast pacing and he won't let up till the end. He doesn't dwell on the notes too much but creates the larger than life vivid pictures. Contemporary styling with soundtrack feel similar to Max Steiner. Doesn't have a dreamy airy quality but more realistic rendition with ever changing emotional states.

On a piece of early 80s super thin vinyl that sounds absolutely FANTASTIC, Who needs 180gm reissues  It also just happens to be a brilliant album.

After this afternoon's good footie result I thought I'd start the evening with something high-tempo and energetic. This fits the bill, particularly the opening song Temptation Waits.

I've a soft spot for Boulez's elegant but witty Ravel.

This is the one done in the late 60s early 70s with Cleveland Orhcestra. Every one of them is a gem.

Lyrical and rhythmic, he maintains colourful vista with excellent pacing.

Sensual but never lecherous.

This is my favourite Boulez' Ravel's Menuet ( with Berliner Phil ). He leaves such a strong impression AFTER the tune is over. Love the haunting final chord.

Switch to one of his greatest albums...actually a collection of 6 cd's...
