Dave Brock Strange Trips & Pipe Dreams  -  fold out cover cd,

lots of amusing messing around with samples in the studio between heavily dominated synth tracks gives this album its flavour. There are great versions of "Space is Deep"and "The Death Of War" (Bosnia) which would appeal to any of the die hard Hawkwind fans.

One and only.

I loved long enough to see the groove's back after 30+ years. (Daft Punk RAM )

It's been said that Walter has developed a close friendship with the composer and that he was *the* authority on Mahler programs.

Certainly this is very different Symphony 1 from what I have heard so far by others. The first half is rather plain and heavy but it gets sort of interesting from the Funeral March and after. There is a clever touch where the soloists are out of sync playing on top of each other creating a deliberately disjointed harmony.

Hard to imagine this is how Mahler wanted it to be played, but If one has a patience to get through the first half, the finale’s fireworks is pretty cool. I have never heard Walter firing on all cylinders like that.

The perfect music for Sunday morning, sometimes magical but not across the record his Beethoven cd was better - still better then most others

Great album - I first heard this in 1999 when the guy I bought my CDS from played Lazy flies through the CDS into nac52 with Linn Klout power amps and keltic speakers. Also heard Gomez's debut album for the first time that day and loved it ever since.

Delicate playing, not as delicate as Lang, but very good in high res...
