It's been almost a year since I have first heard Britten's Piano Concert.

Giving it a listen again to see if this time I *get it*.

Die Papst-Benedikt-Orgel Stiftskirche Unserer Lieben Frau zur Alten Kapelle in Regensburg

Gerhard Weinberger, Norbert Düchtel, Edgar Krapp, Wolfgang Seifen, Choralschola ehemaliger Regensburger Domspatzen, Josef Kohlhäufl

It is hard to believe that centuries ago man was able to create buildings, instruments, art and music of unsurpassed, unfathomable beauty.  As we (de-)volve as a species we walk around, heads down, thumbs tapping away, self-absorbed in our own glory as if we are something to reckon with.  Sad really...

To be able to spend time in these cathedrals absorbing such wonder - I wish I could spend the rest of my life doing such things (maybe even play them!)

Close to the Edge

Same tune but this is a later Holland repress.

I beginning to like this piece albeit I still don't understand it. This is not definitely something you can hum along. Now I can hear a Aaron Copland-esque ( Appalachian Spring ) riffs in Toccata.

Guess he was a boy genius. I didn't realise he wrote this piece when he was 24.

Iron and Wine - Ghost On Ghost

The cover strikes me as something John Mellencamp would use.  The music is pretty good, btw.
