Gary Moore, Blues Alive.

A proper blast from from the past.

Earlier was Hell Freezes Over from the Eagles.

By goodness the DAC V! ,NAP 100 with the old ESLs completely and absolutely beat the CDS 2, NAC 52, NAP 180 or later NAP 200 combo with SBLs of old in sheer guts and weight, let alone clarity.

Sometimes things move forward tremendously such as the V1 over the CDs 2 and 52, and sometimes the old still reigns supreme such as the ESLs.

Don't let anyone convince you the ESLs cannot rock with the best! They can, but with supreme transparency which is their famous plus point.

ATB from George

PS: I have no idea what brought on this blast from the past!

I quite believe it. It's been a long, long time since I last heard the older ESLs, but I am a fan of Quad electrostatics in general and quite a few other makes of panel speakers as well.

Just to prove it, and rocking brilliantly on my Magneplanar MG 3.6Rs, a high res download purchase from Qobuz:

followed by a another real blast from the distant past:

- another hi-res download from Qobuz, and sounding very fresh in 24 bit/192khz format
