London Grammar's "If You Wait" album. Why? Because lead singer Hannah Reid's voice sounds incredible through a pair of P3ESR Harbeth's -- whatever they are attached to, which at the moment is a Naim UnitiLite.

They sound equally good through my pair of Magneplanar MG3.6Rs, or for that matter through my Ruark Solstice speakers. In fact, her voice is simply wonderful. This will be next on my playlist.

Hmak - so true. The only downside to the P3ESRs with their music is that the bass roll off doesn't capture the deeper sounds of the band. The vocals though they present beautifully.
Lloyd Cole - The Collection

A very soothing album and beautifully well recorded. Ray's 'breathie' voice has real presence.
Brian Vander Ark "Brian Vander Ark"
solo effort from vocalist for the Verve Pipe
A very soothing album and beautifully well recorded. Ray's 'breathie' voice has real presence.
"I looked my demons in the eye, laid bare my chest, and said, 'do your best to destroy me' ".
I have lived that lyric the last 12 years, I have the 5 scars from the surgeries and procedures to show for it. But rather than be a reminder of something negative, the lyric has always given me a sense of comfort and courage. Powerful words from a brilliant artist. Ray's newest release is so different it has been difficult for me to adjust to, but I am still working on it and making slow progress.
good listening

Yes, Jeff. I agree about Ray's latest album. He also seems to have changed to the Sony label and I must say the reproduction is nowhere near as good as his other albums, seeming rather flat and lifeless. A real pity.

Listening to Till The Sun Turns Black earlier has given me a taste for a bit more of Ray L. Another super album, this one.
On vinyl. Great LP.
No kidding. One of the greatest records of the past 50 years. Pastorius on Coyote. Holy cow, could that guy play.
Only bettered IMHO by 'Shadows and Light' which was recorded live on the tour promoting 'Hejira'. I adore the live version of 'Amelia' and 'Pat's Solo' (truly spectacular playing from Pat Metheny!)
Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds "Live From KCRW"
Now in the 2nd run I start to appreciate it more after a somehow rough start
Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds "Live From KCRW"
A wonderful album.
Kate Simko and the London Electric Orechestra - iTunes Festival
Vinyl.
Listening to disc 3, Bach cello suites.
Explosions In The Sky - How Strange Innocence
Good ol' post-rock.
Home office and music :-)
1st run of this one - so far enjoyable

Like it a lot - like his other albums...
