A quality album of early '70s jazz-rock fusion (with the emphasis more on rock than jazz). The line-up of the band is impressive, with McLaughlin on guitars, Jerry Goodman on violin, Billy Cobham on drums, Rick Laird on bass and Jan Hammer on keyboards.

 Original Vinyl.

The bad news for you is most of the EST catalogue is on CD. The good news is 4 of their albums are available on vinyl. Best of (very good), Live in Hamburg (Times top jazz album of the noughties), Leococyte - don't bother yet, 301, good but not great post demise release.

If you are serious about the best jazz band of all time, you need

Good Morning Suzie Soho,
From Gagarins Point of View
A Strange Place for Snow
Seven Days of Falling
Tuesday Wonderland
Viaticum

and they all sound wonderful on CD. The best of pulls mainly from the albums I just recommended.

Cheers

Sorry to here that Andy.

This album was going to be my next PT purchase just out of interest is it on coloured vinyl? I have had a couple of bad pressings of PT albums which should really have gone back, did you get it from Burning Shed or Amazon. Hope you get it resolved quickly.

Anne Bisson - Blue Mind. A wonderful album and one of the very best recordings I have heard.

Graham.

Hi Graham,

Thanks for that, it is on coloured vinyl (white) but SQ was fine on LP1, I did not bother to play LP2.

Normally I buy my PT from Burning Shed but this one was 'Fulfilled By Amazon'.

Both are really good with returns, never had a problem, so hopefully should be sorted quickly.

Brgds,

Andy.
