Doug,

How would you compare it to Stefan Hussong playing of the English Suites on his accordion?:

Haim,

My first listen today to Janne Rättyä and I like what I hear.  I have his Scarlatti coming next week and I am really looking forward to that one.

Stefan Hussong's English Suites will always be a special disc for me.  Comparing the two here shows me how Hussong is admirably a very clear thinking player with a bright, cheerful tone while Rättyä strikes me as someone who pays attention to details just slightly more than Hussong.  What I really like though about Rättyä is the sound of his instrument (especially the lower registers).  It is darker and I like how he colours the phrases and thus more interesting for me.  The tone colour between voices is very nice too but of course this is true of Hussong as well in his own way.

If you haven't bought or tried this one, you should give it a go MDS. Many people, including myself, think that it's their best album and also happens to sound most like We Are The Fallen (WATF). It comprises most of Evanescence after they broke up and reformed to become WATF. Taking their name from this Evanescence album "The Fallen", it's very good and as close to the WATF sound as I have been able to find.

Steve

Thanks, Steve. I'll get one.

My apologies I should have said WATF comprised most of Evanescence after they broke up and reformed. Not as I intimated earlier the other way around!
