Graeme,

It is actually a very good album- Afghan Whigs/Gentlemen, but I understand what  you mean. I don't find it any more "disturbing" than when people post Phil Collins's album covers. Seriously!

Hope you're well.

Love the music together with some of the fast paced, complex, dark lyrics and observations of this early Marillion from 1987.

Apologies for the sexist nature of this post in advance:

Delightful French Pop music from a truly talented singer and actress, and probably the sexiest woman who ever graced this Earth.

From the Mono Box - Cannot believe this is a mono album

Yet another flat and perfectly quiet vinyl pressing.

An old favourite. This is my 'go-to' CD for evaluating changes to my system as I know it so well ....but I also like to listen to the all the way through now and again.

Donald Fagen "Sunken Condos"

In my last post I was listening to Beethoven string quartet no. 15 in A min Op. 132, by the Takacs Quartet. Today I just listened to the Busch Quartet playing this Same piece. It was recorded at Abbey Road on 7 October 1937. Obviously mono and one is aware of the historic recording, despite excellent remastering. But the playing is truly spectacular! I'm not yet sure what it is that makes it so absorbing, but absorbing it is. Highly recommended.

Dutton catalogue number CDBP9794.
