Poetic....

Livelier than Haitink's past two other Beethoven 9th but he pulls back the tension and excitement till all the way to the end. I never cared for his past performances with Concertgebouw but I had a high hope for this one with the LSO. This 2006 recording still does not have the raw power the 9th needs.
The sound quality of this 2 ch. mix down from the 5.1 DSD/SACD live recording is uneven and the sound goes in and out. The balance is too laid back.

On my iTouch and earbuds.

Because it seemed like the perfect music to paint the shed to on this balmy autumn morning.

A really nice album - Flac stream from my NAS

but so different from the old hard-core political protest songs I normally associate with Billy Bragg.

Fantastic soul music from the 70s

followed by another equally good album from the Cate Brothers Band (also in the 70s)

John Hiatt "Terms Of My Surrender"
my gateway to JH music was the quieter, acoustic-based Crossing Muddy Waters,
this new release reminds me a bit of that, I like it (all JH) very much
