Jackie Leven "Creatures of Light and Darkness". One of his great albums in my opinion, although a bit suave in character compared to his earlier records. Jackie Leven was one of the very few musicians who really knew how to write good music and lyrics. It's difficult to give an apt description of his music but something close to a mix of pop/rock with a seventies sound, world music, celtic folk music and a voice which is used like an instrument, then I think one is onto something.

Streaming, Steve. Haven't heard much SB but see a lot being played around here so must explore them a  little further before committing them to vinyl, preferably original. I see they are going at a premium!

Just discovered Reinhard Mey. Listening to Ruem Hart and MeyRegen. Wonderful music, wonderful lyrics. I must confess, I had to get a dictionary out. My german isn't what it used to be.

I was kind of disappointed at the state of affairs in music coming from the USA, after listening to him.

Prompted by all the interest on here about the recent mono vinyl releases. This is a seemingly unfashionable stereo CD but, hey, it's very enjoyable.  For me Abbey Road vies with Sgt Pepper as the best of the Beatles' albums.

Yeah Steve J's fault. . Originals or German Deccas are the way to go.

Don't do this to me! I haven't even decided which albums to buy yet.

Reed Foehl "Once An Ocean"

Another old CD but some of the songs still have their magic I remember from my childhood. Girl is particularly special and I'll often play it few times when I've dug this album out.

Also better than Sgt Pepper IMHO.

The early albums are best in mono. Getting To The Point and Blue Matter are my favourites. Any of the albums with Chris Youlden are very good. Hellbound Train is the best of the post Youlden LPs. Sorry.
