Bartok's music can be rather difficult for me to understand but these Rhapsodies are light hearted and much more fun to listen to.
I also very much enjoy Shaham's fiddling well suited for these down to earth folk song like tunes. 
Straight, simple and wholesome.
I swear i have heard some Copland's Appalachian Spring riffs overlaid with the melody.
