I've resisted buying this on DVD/CD Bert, because I've heard the sound quality's very poor with excessive, boomy bass. I'd be interested to learn your opinion.

It's indeed a bit bass heavy, but still digestible. While I am not very much into this music - so I might not be the best to evaluate the recording.
