Think I first came across this band on a Jools Holland show.

This is a fantastic album, rended unlistenable by compression & loudness wars  What ever happend to Hootie

I agree the quality isn't great and it was particularly poor on my previous system but somehow my naim system, despite the higher resolution, makes it better.

Goodness knows what has happened to the band, though.

Johann Sebastian Bach: Das Wohltemperierte Klavier, Teil I - Pierre-Laurent Aimard (Klavier)

Ah!  Bach.  This music fascinates me.  It only gets better with each listen countless times over many decades.  Beyond that of the best aged wine.

Fantasy:  Danae Dörken (Klavier)

Robert Schumann: Fantasie in C-major, op. 17
CPE Bach: Fantasia in F-sharp minor Wq 67/H 300
Franz Schubert: Fantasie in C major op. 15 / D. 760

From Schubert's own Lied, Der Wanderer, which is quoted again in his C major fantasie:

The sun seems so cold to me here,

The flowers faded, the life old,

And what they say has an empty sound,

I am a stranger everywhere.

Thought they had some great tunes but the problem for me was that the album sounded the same all the way through. Darius Rucker (singer) left the band and has made 5 solo albums to date.

The band perform 4 charity concerts a year but won't be recording any new material for the foreseeable future.

This is the most vivid rendition of Mahler 5 to date like the cover art.

Rich and colourful.

Boulez’s Mahler makes Lenny’s set a child play.

Interesting that the score does not even sound like the same one Lenny was conducting. It's fascinating even more because it's the same Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.

Well if you were disappointed in his first solo disc like I was then I can promise you won't in this one. Promised potential realised. Stunning album. Another guitar god is born.
