New CD 1,the original , not sure what has been done to it. Sounds really good to these old ears:-

Decca vinyl. Very relaxing as I do my emails.

On CD, some more Alt-Country, what ever that might be?

Something on the Lucinda Williams album notes that may well apply here too. "Too Rock for Country, too Country for Rock?" :-

Steve Earle - Guitar Town.

On CD. This is a strange one, music from the film but it sounds like the rough tape before final edit, talking before tracks start etc. That said it's a really great album, flows nicely even has todays theme, a cover of Lucinda Williams Change the Locks :-

Some soulful blues is just what you need after starting work at 6am - a real pep-me-up. On CD:

Why not brighten up this Tuesday afternoon with me "In The Nude" ? Eat Static on five vinyl l.p.

See how bad my afternoon was CW, it had me thinking it was Monday! Thanks for the "in The Nude" offer but I will give it a miss as it looks like snow is on the way.

Back to the blues, kinda. LA Woman on crappy mid-80s WEA vinyl. A bit thin, but perfectly listenable:

Golly! I hate the white stuff me self ; the old k9 loves it though. Where's this snow meant to be falling Stevee?

CW, it was from yesterday evening's BBC Scotland weather forecast which so far has not come to pass here at the foot of the Cairngorms. We have remained pretty much snow free this winter and I have my fingers crossed while I say I hope that it stays that way.

I only went out with my dad as an adult four or five times, Steve, and one of those occasions was when we went to see Dud at the Albert Hall in the very early 90s. He - Dud, not my dad - was brilliant. We got three sets: a jazz trio set; a classical set with orchestra (inc Beethoven and Gershwin); and a comedy set in which he did some old Pete & Dud skits, plus pastiches like "Moonlight Sonata in the style Fats Waller"-type stuff. Brilliant pianist. What a pity he's no longer with us.

Nothing like a bit of the old 'Frapp on CD before the houseguests arrive...
