Did hear this so much yet - so a bit of exploration

It has a bit too much forced artistic values I think, while still enjoyable. I normally like a more melodic approach from which improvisation can emerge or complete improvisation to start with. The sound is nice airy.

Changed to something more mainstream - a delight.

One of my recent favourites bought only last summer - very nice indie pop with groove.

Listening to Laura Nyro "Gonna Take a Miracle", CD ripped to AIFF. My Labrador loves to sing along to this but, alas, he's not terribly tuneful.

I seldom post on this thread because I really can't work out how to pop images on here via iPad, my main method of browsing these days. All help gratefully received.

It is a pain in the posterior, Tony. It took me quite a while to get the hang of it. Try this link but it is trial and error as some sites are more "friendly" than others having their material copied and pasted.

In the meantime I hope that's the album you're talking about.

Professor Longhair - Mardi Gras in New Orleans

Complete recordings 1949 - 1962

From the liner notes:  includes every 78 and 45 he released between 1949-62.

Since first heard "Big Chief" always consider him a fun listen.

The red book CD is one of those must have albums.  But if you are lucky enough to own the CD & rip of the Tuff Gong release  (like me) you lucky #####   it’s an outstanding CD.

The Island remaster (2012) in 24/192 is the best so far, a great upgrade over the red book, debatable against the Tuff Gong release,  but don’t get me wrong, the 24/192 is better & that’s saying a lot.

Be careful as some stores are not selling full 24/192, only 24/96

HDT USA 24/192 (2x tracks @ 24/96) £17.18 @ FEX 1.57

HDT UK   Not Available

Qobuz 24/96 £18.88

HighResAudio 24/96 £17.00

Thanks for the help Tony. I've tried the advice given on the thread a couple of times but I can't seem to get the image URL to paste into the Safari bar. Oh well, maybe I'll just type out what I'm listening to, life's too short.

PS! Yes, that's the album!

Moderato cantabile:   Anja Lechner (cello), Francois Couturier (piano)

Works by Gurdjieff, Couturier, Komitas, Mompou

An excellent album suiting my mood and the fall season.  Thanks Haim.
