Blimey, I haven't heard this album in a long long time. Gotta have a listen sometime. Thanks for posting, Ewe.
I've just digitised my original mono copy of Please Please Me into 24/96 WAV, using a Tascam digital recorder. I bought it when it first came out and considering the abuse it's suffered over the fifty-odd years it sounds astonishingly good! Apart from one or two imperceptible blemishes on the cover it's pretty well intact, with almost zero surface noise :-

Vocalists include Gillian Welch, Emmylou Harris, Kris Kristofferson, Rhiannon Giddens.
Hearing Giddens led to Carolina Chocolate Drops 'leaving edn'.

Aphex Twin, Drukqs on CD, prompted by hearing a track on the radio the other day.
This is an excellent mixed bag double album 
Just seeing this album cover displayed brings a host of wonderful memories rushing back to me as it was during a period of my life where I was experiencing my own musical renaissance. This was Volume 20 of the complete Liszt and released around 1992. Album d'un voyageur is of course the beginnings of what would become the three books of what everyone knows as "Années de Pèlerinage." It was a time when I was first immersing myself into the likes of this and Harmonies poétiques et religieuses or the Apparitions etc. and having my eyes really opened for the first time.
Thanks Bert - I'm pulling this out later today to relive a bit of that time again.
