I've just digitised my original mono copy of Please Please Me into 24/96 WAV, using a Tascam digital recorder. I bought it when it first came out and considering the abuse it's suffered over the fifty-odd years it sounds astonishingly good! Apart from one or two imperceptible blemishes on the cover it's pretty well intact, with almost zero surface noise :-

Vocalists include Gillian Welch, Emmylou Harris, Kris Kristofferson, Rhiannon Giddens.
Hearing Giddens led to Carolina Chocolate Drops 'leaving edn'.

Thanks Bert - I'm pulling this out later today to relive a bit of that time again.

Wild Ones - Keep It Safe
One of my most played albums over the past few months. Just a very good indie pop album to these ears. Band is from Portland, Oregon.

Less Baroque, classy modern sounding set with exceptional clarity and transparency.
