Do you like it ?

Yes, I kind of like it.

it is not hugely expressive, but a nice intimate interplay of two greats.

It has got a bit of a intimate atmosphere of two artists having a bit of fun together and is not a big splash out concert style for the audience.

Good choice Jeff. I've just recently downloaded this one from Qobuz and have been enjoying it! I was impressed with his Darkside album so thought it would be worth a punt.

Jimi Hendrix - In the West (CD version with IMHO inferior recordings of Little Wing and Red House cf. original vinyl release)

Correction - Red House sounds to be the same recording as on the vinyl release.

Hi

Have been trying some new-to-me artists on Spotify.  No solid first impressions yet but will try again in a few days and see if any are "keepers".  Most of these choices are artists initially seen on this thread or discovered in exploring/researching items seen on this thread.  An invaluable resource in my mind.

regards

The original In The West album contained performances of "Little Wing" and "Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)" from Jimi's concert at the RAH in London although these were incorrectly listed as from the San Diego Sports Arena. Universal got round to reissuing the original track listing on CD in 2004. The Sony Legacy reissue has replaced the superior RAH performances with versions recorded at San Francisco Winterland ("Little Wing") and San Diego ("Voodoo Child") plus 3 extra tracks.

Sounding great as I log off from work, listening in my study as this is playing in the lounge.... who needs a multi room system!

Is that the original version released on cd or the remastered new version released a few years back?
