First play of a recent purchase on CD. I used to have this album on vinyl many years ago so it is still somewhat familiar.  If I'm honest, I'm a bit underwhelmed. Maybe it grow on me.

Just looked this up on Amazon, Greg.  Leaving aside an MP3 download (ugh!), the only CD offering is an import from your side of the water at an eye-watering £28! This album must be something pretty special.

Yes, I needed something to calm me down after this afternoon's Clash session!

One of the last classics by the maestro of synth noodling! Slightly spoiled by the mechanical percussion of Ulli Schober.

Let's hope it does. IMHO it's her best after 'Hounds of Love'.

Now:

The Heavy Circles "Heavy Circles"

(featuring Edie Brickell and Harper Simon)

Top of the pile:

Lauren Kinhan "Avalon"

Playing Neil Cowley Trio's recently released "Touch and Flee". I'm a great fan of their former album "The Face of Mount Molehill". Their last album is slightly different; less forceful, less attack but still with their typical flowing sound which has such a  beautiful and dreamy character. In my opinion "Touch and Flee is a better album and offers greater musical variety and is more accomplished - more subdued but also more exciting on several levels. And the sound quality on this LP is to die for!

I agree, it's a super album. I have the 96k download, and it sounds amazing.

......going to bed now but I've been listening to this album continuously since picking it up at the post office today. A HD download code is apparently enclosed but I haven't quite figured how to store it onto the unitiserve..... I'm obviously not a technical genius...

Download it from the website to your computer, then drag and drop it into the Serve's downloads folder (assuming you have the 2TB version) using windows explorer.
