Mindy Smith "The Essential ....."

24 bit wav file of new Warners remastering of Callas' La Traviata. Just simply outstanding, better than old vinyl copy and making me twitchy about pulling the trigger on the whole lot

And now for something completely different, if still a diva

Robert Plant - lullaby and ... The Ceaseless Roar

First listen.  Very enjoyable.  Repeated listens on the horizon.

Oistrakh/Ormandy's Mendelssohn Violin Concerto.

Cool and collected but rock solid. Confidence shows thourgh from the fisrt bar. Various textural interests and tremendous precision yet still remaining reasonably human.

Perhaps not the most romantic but what can you do with this corny old war horse?

I had no idea that they were back...just heard one song on the radio. Seems good.

Foo Fighters "Wasting Light". This is an album which I have to be in the right mood to listen to. It's recorded and mixed with analog equipment in Dave Grohl's own garage. For those who may be interested there are a few videos on YouTube with Dave Grohl telling about the experience.
