What did you think of this Jeff? Personally I haven't been fond of his albums for a number of years.

Hi Ewen

I liked it, will need some more listens.  I have dabbled via Spotify with some of his lesser known releases and find myself really liking his song craft.  The tribute album has helped there as well because the new interpretations of those artists give different slants on the songs then JB did in his original releases.

Hope you are well.

Hi kk

An artist new to me, but have seen some prior mentions of it here and have enjoyed this.  Will have to go back to some of his work with Blur as well, the name seems familiar but I don't recall having heard them.

hi Jeff,

i have never listened to the blur era, I was and still am an oasis man!  But this album to me is something special. I have thought to myself I need to investigate more. His gorillaz work is great but I just can't go near the blur stuff, just yet!

enjoy

on the Cleopatra label, if you mixed the albums Master Of The Universe, Roadhawks and Stasis together you get the gist of this compilation, excellent sound quality on this release.

Steely Dan: Pretzel Logic [SACD-SHM-CD) [Special Package), SACDOriginally Posted by ewemon:

Japanese SHM sacd

This post prompted me to listen to the Pretzel Logic for the first time from Mike's Stash. I have never owned anything before Katie Lied.

I had no idea 'Rikki Don't lose That Number' came from this album!

This is a  80s MCA US reissue but it is low noise and sounds pretty good.

Here's another mega hit album I have never got to listen to.
Released in '81 ( that's the whole decade I did not own hifi or bought any records ) I reckon this is still an analogue recording, sounding fabulous albeit this isn't a kind of record I would have bought. ( heavy American folk influence )

Once is enough for this soft folk pop meets easy jazz tunes.
