Right now I like his music in general - this album is a bit more dynamic than normal

Posted on: 12 October 2014 by Bert Schurink

He is a bit undervalued

HAWKWIND - SPACEBROCK -  on c.d..

lots of studio tweakery and re-hashing of Hawkwind material as Brock turns into a one man band for this rampage through the aether.

I have only listened to it a few times, but a while back I believe Richard (FangfossFlyer) mentioned it as one of his favorites of NY, so I thought it was worth revisiting.  Have you heard the new release, Ewen ? Any thoughts ?

Some absolutely fantastic acoustic guitar picking.  If you like Nils' electric stuff, this is a must as the acoustic is even better.  Very well recorded for a live recording.

If you are talking about Letters Home  then it isn't a bad album of covers with a few exceptions but what lets it down is the sq and I think that's what people hate about it.

He was supposed to be releasing another album this year but it has all gone quiet on that front. PONO must be taking up all his time

Jefferson Airplane. Surrealistic Pillow. On vinyl from 1967. Listening to this reaffirms my notion that Grace Slick's "White Rabbit" is the greatest female rock vocal of all time. Still gives me chills. This LP captures the quintessence of the Haight-Ashbury psychedelic sound.
