I think I'm with you on this one. I can't think of a better one right now!

This is Judee Sill's first (& I think best) album from 1971. She wrote some hauntingly beautiful songs, but in the end was a victim of the excesses of the 70's.

What an incredible life she had led up to her death in 1979!

Feel like some Bowie Berlin today, so I'm gonna play the Zeit CD box set from start to finish...

First off, his best album, and one of the finest records ever made by anyone, anywhere, ever... Low!

Inspired by Ewemons 'Female Blues' albums:

Rory Block is definitely one of my favourites. This is just one of the many Rory Block CDs I have.

although 'Turning Point' isn't really one of her traditionally 'Bluesy' albums

This Mortal Coil - Blood

This Mortal Coil - Blood on mp3 (for now). A very varied and intricate album. Interesting soundscapes and full of atmosphere.

Another from Zeit: the Dame's most underrated album, the mighty "Lodger":

Sharon Von Etten - because I was in love

First listen.

Last one from "Zeit" - "Stage", the deeply flawed 1978 live album. This CD reissue restores the correct running order, eliminates the between-track fades and adds bonus tracks.

Not normally my type of thing at all, but I am occasionally partial to a bit of Sergio Mendes & Brazil 66:

FLAC streamed from my NAS.

Wikipedia makes me feel cool.

Genres:   Alternative rock, noise rock, neo-psychedelia, garage rock, hard rock, shoegaze.

Then I see these that some of these genres refer to the 80's and 90's.  And surprise, bands I like from the those decades.

Funnily enough I just can't get into her. I know she is great but her music just eludes me. I keep trying (I do have a few of her albums as well).

Jeff what do you think about this one? I have seen some reviews that have slated it saying how bad an album it is so I avoided listening to it.

Les Baxter - Tamboo

I first heard this at a friends place, I had to learn to appreciate this but now I really like exotica

Played on (his) vintage vinyl setup it sounds even better

JTB - you've just inspired me to slip this bit of exotica in the old CD player...
