I think I saw them at The Garage in the early days... Was going through a few tapes this afternoon and found this one. Fond  memories of those days!

Yup Garcia played pedal steel on this superb album.  Dave Nelson has tried to resurrect NRPS, if you go over to the Archive.org then you should find some of the Dave Nelson band etc.

I used to do a spot of DJing while I was at Uni. The Kennedy's 'Too Drunk to......' Didn't go down well at the English Society disco - I hadn't realised all the academics would be there too.

Indeed they were Osprey! It was a good album. If I remember correctly, my first-ever published music review (early in 1987) included this album, as well as Einsturzende Neubauten's Fünf auf der nach oben offenen Richterskala and Tacky Souvenirs of Pre-Revolutionary America by Culturecide.

Streaming | CD FLAC rip

Hans Zimmer - The Dark Knight. A good work out for the headphones and IEMs bass while the Superuniti is back to Salisbury for repair.

Did they not get censored?

First press Track mono vinyl. Listening to it it's hard to believe it's not stereo.

James Vincent McMorrow "Post Tropical"

I originally thought that this one was not as good as his Beethoven CD - in the meanwhile I have realized I keep on returning to this one on an ongoing base...

I've perviously only had one Tori Amos album - Boys for Pele - and thought it was about time I tried another. Went for this one which has a similar style so I'm enjoying it. Might try some of her more recent material next.

My wife is a massive fan so I've met her, heard all her albums repeatedly and seen her live several time and I still find her hit and miss. Some great work and some really boring and strange. I once fell asleep stood up at one of her gigs which was a first! I quite like this album though, enjoy

Really difficult to believe Jello has ever taken himself too seriously. Nowadays he is a member of the Green Party in America. "Too drunk to pluck" I'd say!

Spoon "Transference"

there is something wonderful in the simplicity of their music

I'd be happy to take Mrs dayjay's steer on Tori's best albums

She recommends Songs from the Choir Girl Hotel and Little Earthquakes. Her last one must be quite decent too as we listened to it the other night and I stayed wide awake throughout
