A couple of excellent new ones from the old British 'underground', Arthur Brown's 'Zim Zam Zim' (CD and download) and the Hawklords 'Censored', both a blast of fresh air. Also just read Nick Kent's (NME reviewer in the 70s) fantastic auto-biographical book ' Apathy for the Devil' , well written, bit of an eye-opener and very thoughtful. PS Kate Bush at the Hammy Odeon was the most self indulgent drivel I have ever had the misfortune to pay a lot of money to hear, I see someone (letters page) in the current issue of Uncut Magazine (P Floyd on the cover) felt the same way, thought I was the only one!

Split on original vinyl.

Probably one of my most played albums in the last year.

Jethro Tull. Too Old to Rock 'n' Roll: Too Young to Die! On vinyl from 1976. It's been awhile since I played this.

I'm in a Lou kinda mood, so the Velvets' Peel Slowly & See box set:

Does anyone else's banana keep falling off the front?

Joerand - you have reminded me that:

A) You're never too old for Rock 'n' Roll - thank goodness (cause I am old!)
B) Jethro Tull were great and it's been a while since I played anything by them

Unfortunately, I don't have this particular album so making do with 'Minstrel in the Gallery' instead:

Streamed (FLAC) from my NAS.

Reminded by Dr Blues who posted this fantastic album recently, to give my 2nd press1966 original Mono vinyl a spin.

Loudon Wainwright II has always been a favourite of mine. This album is up there with his best.

Fantastic album. I only have the CD nowadays but the original vinyl got played endlessly way back when, until someone stupidly left it on a windowsill and warped it!

Dark classical music, but beautiful and vibrant. Recommended.

On the strength of your recommendation I bought this in Foyles whilst I was down in London yesterday.  What a stunning piece of music, I ripped the CD last night and have listened to it in FLAC 44.1 / 1411 throughout the day. Thank you.
