Kurt Vile "Constant Hitmaker)
Jackie Leven "Creatures of Light and Darkness". It was the first Jackie Leven album I bought a few years ago. Still love this album and in my opinion his best.
Would you mind explaining how to do this? I copied a screenshot, pasted it in, and it showed fine, then disappeared. I'd like to be able to do it on the iPad.
AIFF CD rip:-
John Lee Hooker - The Healer.
Matt Andersen , good Canadian boy .
Coal mining blues was produced by Colin Linden at Levon Helms studio.
You can order vinyl and cd's from his website and very fast shipping .
Leonard Cohen "Popular Problems"
really, really enjoying this

Exactly the same problems I had to struggle with HH! I guess you used an IPad while trying?
Anyway, I use an app called Photobucket which works very well. It lets you upload and copy the direct link in an easy manner so posting the picture works a dream. It really is the "Direct link" feature which makes a difference!
That seems to have done the trick, thanks Mr F. It's a really excellent album, which arrived yesterday. The Serve thought it was 1998 Rave anthems for some reason. Editing songs into Polish was fun.

Bob Seger, Live Bullet, a really great live album with excellent sq, worth a listen if only for Turn the Page which is just brilliant and way better than Metallica's version

Haha, editing in Polish must have been something. Glad it work! I'll check out the Marcin Wasilewski Trio also!
Loads more on Spotify now it has an equaliser to turn down the bass a little on the 'radio friendly' tracks
The Best of The Guess Who. On CD from 2006. When I think of my most 'analog-sounding' CDs, this one is near the top of my list. Something is definitely amiss within the industry when the SQ of these recordings from 45+ years ago sound so clearly superior to the most of the cacophonous calamities produced today.
Been awhile since I played this excellent 16 Horsepower album.
On CD. Prompted by Big Bill's remarks above.
That's the chappie.
Isn't it sad that she is remembered for being a lesbian. I also think that k.d. lang has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard but when you mention her most turn round and say "Ah, she is a lesbian". Not "Hasn't she got a brilliant voice" - which as far as I am concerned is all that matters.
Not a fan of kd lang [hate the lower case - who does she think she is - ee cummings? ] but I agree with you 100%.
The terrible pity about Chris Connor was that she was in many ways a victim of changing fashions. Fortunately her cool, vibrato-less style came back in the 1980s and she enjoyed a late renaissance, particularly in Japan, where she was adored.
If anyone ever says to you that nothing good came out of punk, you could do no better than to direct them to this magisterial debut ("The Scream") by Siouxsie & The Banshees from 1978. One of the very best albums of the 1970s, imperious tracks like "Jigsaw Feeling" and "Switch" have the ability to both chill and thrill with both their intensity and literary qualities.
This is the deluxe CD edition:
Concerto No. 5 from this set. A lovely addition to any collection of The Five Piano Concertos.
LP "Forever For Now"
Kettel "Ibb & Obb" (Original Soundtrack)
from a mention by an eclectic listener on another thread
Billy Squier. Don't Say No. On vinyl from 1981. Probably best remembered as a hard rocker, I saw Billy play a few years ago with Ringo's All-Star Band. He did a solo acoustic guitar version of "In The Dark" and it was a riveting performance.

La Vallee des cloches
One of my favourite younger pianists - Herbert Schuch. Each one of his CD's just gets better and better and I think this is my favourite so far which is saying a lot as none of his recordings has disappointed me yet. He has a bell like touch / tone and everything he presents exudes tastefulness and thoughtfulness. I would imagine that in having a conversation with him he would speak very softly but with authority - causing you to lean forward and pay attention to every word he is saying - much like his playing. The recording quality is next to none.
The theme and selection of pieces is right up my alley. Three works from Harmonies poétiques et réligieuses but I just wish he would record the complete work. The Bach/Busoni and Bach/Bauer transcription are all pieces I am extremely connected to (although I prefer the Walter Rummel transcription of the latter.
'Invocation designates the points of contact between man and God: glorification and prayer, supplication, but also sorrow and death. The sound of bells for me is the magical medium by means of which we try to communicate with God.'
Herbert Schuch
Highly recommended if you like contemplative music or look for the meaning in the music and have no issues with mostly profound, weighty subjects revolving around life and death.
Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation on black Liberty vinyl.
CD from the mono box set.
