I saw that doc a while back and the subsequent Glasto concert. I've never seen a more bizarre rendition of Black Dog in my days on this earth.

More older Style Council on vinyl. Definitely foot tapping stuff.

Lol, Dayjay's missus is chuffed. Made us laugh. Glad you like the album

Try Strange Little Girls, Tori's album of covers. I love it. As her career has progressed, I've liked her stuff less. Me And a Gun has not been surpassed - to see her sing it live years ago was just so moving.

Cheers HH. I've added those two to my list.

Me And a Gun is a track from the first album, Little Earthquakes.

Opulent and flowing but never sappy or over fragrant.  A streamlined elegance beautiful melody making. A touch Schubertian but a stronger sweet moving melody line assures this is very Chopin. It is terribly melancholic but due to Pollini’s clarity and precision on every note tunes never get sentimental.

His Nocturnes by far my favourite. ( till further notice )

I favor Maria Jao Pires with this music

I cannot recommend this highly enough if you have a system which can handle bass.

An incredile 'rush' and sensory onslaught when played with volume. Recorded in 1963!

Possibly her best yet. Think this is about her 9th or tenth album.

FEED YOUR HEAD Vol. 3  -  on cd.

I'm not one to exaggerate, but I've only just woken up after Vol. 2. It has to be something to do with the low bass notes and bird whistles noises and whiny eastern instruments. I hope I haven't hurt my puck by leaving the disc in too long. I want stimulation, not stupor on a Saturday night.  Anyway I've put volume three on so sweet om dreams and happy breakfast to yz.

I see your Maria and raise you Martha.

Actually I haven't heard Martha or Maria's Nocturnes. Listening to her Barcarolle.

She can still be the reference for showy trail-blazing Chopin piano style. Less sentimental than many but love her scherzo like bold fresh approach.

The two CD set from 2007. I'm listening to the mono CD. I only recently discovered this music and I think it sounds excellent both today and for its time in 1967. Creative, experimental, and progressive, it still seems fresh. It makes me want to explore more of Syd Barrett's music.
