Lipatti's '48 Barcarolle is one of my favourite.

This is a highly emotional set with a heartfelt rendition and transcends poor transfer and recording condition. He’s giving everything he’s got.

Nocturne also is poignant and pleading considering his circumstance.

Yes Elvis Costello is a lucky man.

Lori keeps churnin out good albums but I think the stripped back production on this one helps the songs shine through. Possibly her best yet.

Out and out 'Pop' music maybe, but beautifully crafted pop music of the highest order. I had forgotten just how good they were:

On vinyl from the early 70s.

1 st run - seems to be nicely transparent, just have to hear it completely and then a second time

On vinyl rescued from a local Oxfam shop and sounding amazingly good:

My thanks to the original owner!

Very well played, you need a certain mindset, mood to appreciate it to it's full extend

Hi Bert,

Angela Hewitt's amazing 2010 box-set seems incomplete without her version of the AoF so i was delighted to buy a copy of this on release.

I do like it but... so far remain mildly disappointed in that despite her easy going flowing agreeable manor of play it doesn't imho convey the gritty mood of dark mystique and instead has a more appeasing approach of a jolly tempered clavier.

Sometimes i think her style is delicate enough for harpsichord which would be far more suitable and sympathetic in the Art of Flavour.

Be interesting to hear what Doug things of it : )
