Not one I play much. For me it's nearly always Blue, C&S, Hejira and THOSL. But on the basis of your recommendation, I'm going to listen to to again right now.

I think this album and Night Ride Home are both classic Joni albums in their own right.

winky, ewemon - it's difficult to put my finger on why this Joni album hits my buttons. It might the background sax and warmth of the recording which lends an intimate atmosphere that I like.

John Mellencamp. Plain Spoken. On vinyl, just released. I'm very impressed with this music. The amplified instruments take a back seat to the abundant acoustics. Mellencamp's voice is gritty and adds to the genuine, stripped down feel of this album. The presentation is intimate and the lyrics seem very personal and heartfelt, if not with an overall melancholy tone. Two listens and I think this will be one I play often. I should add that my pressing is excellent, well centered and the 180 g vinyl is silent.

Saw Nerina Pallot live at the weekend, during which she performed a few songs from this album, so I had to give this a play.

Interesting concept playing both the parts by yourself...

I use to like that album, not listened to it for ages.  Was she any good live?

She was brilliant, dayjay. I hadn't really come across her before but a friend who is a big fan persuaded me to go and I'm glad I did. Very talented lady: great voice, plays piano and guitar very well, and she interacted with the audience delightfully. I shall now be looking out for her recorded music. When she sung a few ballads when playing the electric piano she reminded me of Tori Amos. So if you get a chance to see her live do take, and take Mrs dayjay too as I think she'll be impressed too.

Seems to be right when reading a book about Mozart

Bought this a few weeks ago but only just got around to playing it. Not generally a fan of live recordings but I think I prefer the version of Shine On You Crazy Diamond on here over the studio version.

Excellent, thanks, I'll keep an eye out for her touring around here.  I used to listen to the album a lot at one point - everyone going to war was in the charts as I recall.  Glad you enjoyed it

I saw her at Portsmouth on Sunday evening and I think she said her next gig was Milton Keynes so she seems to be heading up country, maybe you'll get the chance very soon.
