Good to see some Jordi Savall discs getting a spin on the forum.

I'm joining in : )

Nice album. Very close miking of the piano, interesting SQ! I saw 4 microphones right above the strings on Youtube.

Excellent playing skills, clearly inspired by Glenn Gould. "Allemande" from Partita No.1 played with clear melody lines, although nobody can replace Glenn.  "Gigue" is really fast, and "Menuet I" makes me realise how rhytmical and cheerful music Bach could write.

Tristano also throws in some weird piano sounds.

New reissue. Ouch!

French first press: music to my ears. The new reissue is going back. Pity, I bought it on the back of IV being better than the first three.

CD two this evening with the live performance of DSOTM.  I'm seriously impressed! The performance has emotion and energy and it is very well recorded, bass particularly so, which says something for a live gig. Think this is already up there among my favourite Floyd albums.

Only negative I can think of is that the double CD I bought doesn't have one of those blinking LEDs that came with the original release. Mind you, it would have died by now anyway.

Mine died years ago after a small curious child pulled it to bits!

Still prefer the 70's live version with echoes as the encore. Fabulous dynamic recording too.

Do you mean this one Graeme?

A pity that the DSOTM immersion box set didn't include the Wembley Arena recording of "Echoes"

Yes - mine's a Japanese disc. Sounds phenomenal.

I have the Harvested boot which is purportedly sourced from the BBC pre-FM tape as I presume is your Japanese release.

The live version in the immersion set is actually a composite from 2 different nights at the Wembley arena. If you compare the 2 versions of "Us and Them" the official version doesn't have the backing singers singing the wrong line.
