As Steve says raw and "traditional"blues but I prefer it to BWCH which I find more funkadelic than bluesy. But that's my personal opinion. Really worth getting though.

Thanks, Steve. Might look that one out (on CD, mind). I like a bit of blues now and again.

Just looked it up on Amazon.  Only used copy offered and at an eye-watering £55, so I think I explore other sellers.

Rather oddly, though, the album cover seems to be the reverse image of Tony's LP cover:

Quite odd  really. Never bothered to look but mine is a  mono uk pressing and it seems the U.S. stereo pressing  is a reverse copy.  Go figure. Both on Liberty. Let me know if you find out why .

Green Day. American Idiot. On Reprise 2LP 180g vinyl from 2009. This is the Stan Ricker 1/2 speed mastering. A very quiet high quality pressing, as I've found is the case with all my recent Reprise LPs.   The sound is very tight and an improvement over the CD. While the CD has a slightly more open sound, it's also louder and in your face. The vinyl has more dynamic range and greater overall balance. Either way, it's a fantastic album.

Haim - Please don't use the "s" word. Thanks.

PS - 80% of our leaves here in Minnesota are down, and it's dropping below freezing at night.  Am praying the Farmer's Almanac is right, and that this will be a warmer and drier than average winter. Ooops, please forgive my use of the "w" word.

My UK Mono 1st press is also the same as Tony's. You might find a cheap cd on fleabay.

Foghat. Fool For The City. On MFSL vinyl from 2008. An improvement over the original Bearsville pressing. A bit wider, but still overall flat sounding. Very good music though, esp for a Friday afternoon.

The Kinks. State Of Confusion. On vinyl from 1983. Maybe the last of their worthy efforts?

Thin Lizzy, Black Rose,  a wander through Lizzy's back catalogue

"S" word is perfect for a Halloween night..

Oak leaves cover the ground here, Maples are half way through and the Buckthorn's are just starting to turn yellow.. The seventy miles per hour winds are running an extensive leaf exchange program among the neighborhood yards and first thing tomorrow morning we will have to sort them out and return each leaf to its lawful owner before any earnest raking can start.. This is why soothing Gould and company are so needed tonight.
