Bob Dylan Bootleg 11, basement tapes 44.1/24. Wonderful!
Elton John
"Tumbleweed Connection"
On vinyl.
Beck
"Mutations"
Tarkovsky Quartet
François Couturier piano
Anja Lechner violoncello
Jean-Marc Larché soprano saxophone
Jean-Louis Matinier accordion
"The unique band founded by François Couturier continues to draw inspiration from the films of Andrey Tarkovsky as its frame of reference expands. Allusions to Pergolesi, Bach and Shostakovich are to be found in the compositions here, as are compelling group improvisations. As the Irish Times wrote of the earlier “Nostalghia - Song for Tarkovsky” album (recorded 2005): “Mixing classical rigour with improvisation both formal and free, what emerges is austerely beautiful, etched in sombre hues and redolent of an unslakeable thirst to connect with a deeper well of the spirit.” (from the ECM site)

Car music in the last two days.
George Harrison. Cloud Nine. On vinyl from 1987.
Format: CD
Just adding to my early (post Beatles) Macca right now with McCartney and Venus & Mars (I already have what I think are two best from that era, Ram and BOTR). Might throw this into the basket, too.
Winky,
I'd highly recommend Red Rose Speedway. Great tunes and well recorded.
Red Hot Chili Peppers. On CD from 2006. Jupiter disc. Love the lush guitar tones throughout.
I've been (over) listening to this quite a lot of late, after seeing them play as support at a recent concert in London.
The band used to be called "No", but changed the name to 'Black English' (despite being neither English nor black). I can imagine lots of reasons for it not being practical to have the name 'No', but actually I think it was because there's another band using it.
The record was originally released under the name 'No' though, and the album called 'El Prado'
They're LA based, but from all over the US, Canada and New Zealand. It's excellent, guitar-based indie music, and the record is stuffed full of ideas, melodies and good songs (presumably the result of several musicians coming together with years of things to express). Will be interesting to see what the second album is like, but this one only came out in February.
You can hear (I think all) the tracks here:

Really good, if you like that sort of thing. 'Keep the Door Wide Open' gets into your head in the way all good songs can.
The bass parts are very nicely coming across...
Underrated album.
Beautifuuuullll, Ewe. Our little secret!
This one gets a fairly regular airing on vinyl at my house. Don't worry, I won't tell...
One of 2 CDs of theirs that I have:
Clive Gregson & Christine Collister have both toured in the past as part of Richard Thomson's backing band.
A 24/96 rip of my original "Plum" vinyl -
One of 2 CDs of theirs that I have:
Clive Gregson & Christine Collister have both toured in the past as part of Richard Thomson's backing band.
I've seen them both live, separate & together & with RT's band.
I have all the pairs LP's & a few of Christine's. Your post has prompted me to go see if there are downloads around rather than buy CD, problem is it looks like I might have to swallow my pride & go iToons.
Did you know = the album cover pic shows Christine almost as tall as Clive, she is standing on a KEF Coda III - my first "hifi" speakers
Aphex Twin 26 Mixes For Cash 2 c.d.

Me too (shows + albums) - I love them!
Hmack - I suggest you find their Home & Away album. It's a rather low-tech recording (possibly even mono) but it sounds superb - great songs and vocals - and the dog barking in the crowd
I have it - like I said I have them all (on vinyl)
But all well worn & scratchy, so much go find downloads or CD's
Whoa Qobuz have them !!!
Love Is A Strange Hotel
Mischief
A Change In The Weather
Home And Away
The Last Word
...... Best Of ......... 17 tracks duration 1:14:26
All 16/44 & £7.99
Watch out because some of the songs in the dvd are not on the record. Things i'll never understand.........
I have that box-set on vinyl, and it's really good
Thought i could find "Cry" by Doyle Bramhall with a FANTASTIC Alice Smith but.....nothing....
