Amos Lee

"Amos Lee"

Pretty old recording which is pretty flat but this CD was very cheap.  Very bluesy and the classic Canned Heat songs of On The Road Again and a live version of Let's Work Together are enjoyable.

Ali Farka Toure w/Ry Cooder

"Talking Timbuktu"

So pleased that this finally showed up on Spotify. I have been searching

for a download unsuccessfully.  I owned this many years ago, don't recall

in what format and don't remember what I did with it (age related I suspect).

So very nice to hear this again.  One of my personal top 25 all-time.

Not played this for a while. The quality of the recording is almost a shock having played some lesser CDs.  Makes me realise what my system is capable of.

An excellent album, Saharan Blues at its best!  Also try to give Ali's "In the Heart of the Moon" a listen if you can.

Those who love "beard music", i.e. Fitzsimmons, Fleet Foxes, Iron & Wine, Bon Iver, et.al.  might find something to like here.  Don't let the fact his most recent releasee is as a duo ("you + me") with Pink throw you off.  Check that out as well.

orb  - orblivion -  on c.d.

Its a lovely quiet night where I am, it's not freezing and the stars are bright in the sky. This music goes well with looking up at the sky and wondering.

Chill Out. The album that created a genre.... a beautiful piece of ambient created by Messrs Drummond and Caulty of the KLF with contributions from Dr Alex Patterson of The Orb.
