Too true, I'm up to Before and After, and even now 40 plus years later it sounds sublime, wonderful

Pink Floyd. The Endless River. On CD release two days ago. First listen. Nicely packaged, like a small hardbound book with 16 pages of photos, credits, and lyrics to the lone vocal song on the album. First time I've seen neoprene used for a CD holder.

Kansas. Point Of No Return. On vinyl from 1977. My second favorite of the two Kansas LPs I own.

Wings. Wild Life. On vinyl from 1971. Took a week to record with most tracks done in one take. Sounds like it. Raw and edgy.

Al Stewart. Year Of The Cat. On vinyl from 1976. It's been a while since I played this.

This is a Dieskau-Demus paring of Winterreise.

Not as endearung as his later set with Moore.

Included in this box set is 6 Lieder which mostly dark and depressing as Winterreise.

Particularly the haunting 'Before My Cradle' which is like a morbid lullaby.

Late *D* number on this tune indicates that when he finished it, Schubert must have known that he doesn't have much to live.

In light of yesterday's events, it seemed entirely apposite to play this old Floyd vinyl boot "In Celebration of the Comet", recorded at the Rainbow in February '72:

I remember watching the Apollo 11 moon landing on the BBC.  Floyd were in the studio jamming away to the decent.... the resultant "Moonhead" has never been released, but it is on youtube:

I was re-reading Bob Dylan's Chronicles 1 last; Bob's description of his thoughts upon hearing Robert Johnson for the first time has prompted my first listen in a long while ...
