Newly arrived from Japan today.  A CD remaster recommended by ewemon.  Very, very nice.  The recording has warmth and depth, with no added emphasis.  Nicely packaged too.

Thanks ewemon. It was worth the extra cost and hassle.

The OBI on that image doesn't look right as that looks like the 2011 version. The image for the current version would be as below.

Dire-Straits-2013-CD-New

I would hate to think you got the wrong version of the title but if you did let me know (I will put my email address up for a short period if you post here that you have the wrong one) and I can send you mine foc.

I can easily get another one.

You're right, ewemon. I rather lazily scanned the Amazon site for the closest image. Your one matches the CD I have (not that I can read Japanese!). Thanks again.

Just checked the CD itself, ewemon, and it carries the number "UICY - 75769" which is the one you suggested, I think. So all's good.

And now for something to quicken the pace after Dire Straits.  This album never disappoints. A real mood lifter!

45rpm vinyl. Second full listen to this excellent reissue from Mobile Fidelity. I wish some of their other reissues were as good.

Do you have 'Dedicated to Connie' Jeff?

A much more vibrant and vital double live set - and a fabulous recording (Imho).

Not familiar with this album,Tony.

Listening now to my first Gismonti with a very early Haden, the Montreal tapes from 1989:

Haim,  In Montreal in an excellent album and the ECM recording is exceptional. Try and and have a listen to Circense if you can. His early stuff is his best.

Regards,

Tony

45rpm vinyl. IMO the best SQ of the Mobile Fidelity 45rpm reissues.

This album always reminds me of Beatles' performance of Get Back on Tops of the Pops, which was recorded on a roof-top somewhere. I remember being stuck by the originality of it. Very many years ago, though.
