Do you have 'Dedicated to Connie' Jeff?

A much more vibrant and vital double live set - and a fabulous recording (Imho).

I am listening on Spotify, I will check and see if that is available, thanks.

edit:  not on Spotify, I will add it to the list I have to look for downloads to buy.

Try Deezer. Streaming this album at this moment.

It was No 3 Savile Row.

edit:  not available in the US, they suckered me into giving them my email ("Enter your email address to get exclusive, early access to Deezer before the official US launch date.")  and then notified me I would be entered into some kind of drawing for possible inclusion.  Those tactics would not make me inclined to use their services in the future, chosen or not.  I do appreciate the referral, just didn't work out.

Like this version of the 6th, while the tempo in my opinion might be a bit slower

I like her balanced and modest execution. Perhaps not so extreme as some of the biggest names, but very enjoyable for me. And a steal for less then 40 euros with Qobuz in high res.

Great crooner, classic ballads.

Just finished with:

Followed by

and finally the re-release on 180gm vinyl of King Crimson - Islands

All on vinyl and all sounding exceptionally fine.  The King Crimson - Islands is particularly good and the re-release sounds absolutely fantastic.

Hi Tony,

Sure am.  I didn't realize he had a new album out until reading this thread.  Just ordered it.  Will have to check out the rest of his catalog as well.

Best regards,

Pat

Edwin Fischer's Bach keyboard Concertos with his own Chamber Orchestra.

I like his style very much as it feels very much improvised and less ridged baroque style. Feels much more human and down to earth that way. At time, he gives Beethoven-esque drama which might not be totally *kosher* but it gives more emotional involvement for me.

Tempo drops dramatically from Fischer set. Piano is played heroic and proud standing right up there with the orchestra. Sanderling's direction is grandeur and stately complimenting classy moves by Richter. Altho, losing much of intimacy. Richter's playing is measured and reserved throughout painting rather dark and serious rather than a melancholic moods. Perhaps too heavy handed in some spots. Much more Autumnal than youthful Gould. Recorded in Moscow in 1955, 2 years before Gould's Russia visit.
