There's a version of Midnight in Harlem in one of the Crossroads that's simply awesome.

Brilliant, I highly recommend it.

If you haven't already pop over to youtube and watch the Atlanta gig version.Stunning.

One of today's most beautiful contraltos, in a programme of sad songs. Great in itself, but also as introduction into the world of Monteverdi and early baroque contemporaries.

I was skeptical at first, as Netrebko has also had some less optimal recordings. But this one is definitely worth while - in the first two songs she warms up the last song is a delight. I would have like the tempo of the first song to be a little slower, but ok. Does it reach the tops of Jessye Norman, no it doesn't but is a good recording which I will listen to more often

Yes: Relayer

New Steven Wilson mix. CD version ripped to NS01, streaming through NDS.

I adore this album and, for the time being at least, am enjoying this new mix which appears to offer a more open, less congested sound which makes it easier to follow separate instrumental lines.

I now have a number of these discs which come with a second disc with the recording presented at higher resolution (24bit, 96kHz) so will have to work out how to rip those tracks to the NS01 (challenging!!).

Warpaint - The Fool

The production on their self titled second album is much better, but this one contains some decent tracks.

20 years old, still going strong. Beaux Arts Trio's playing is articulate and joyful and the sound is pretty decent comparing to their vinyl counterparts. Never had the urge to look for other performers.
