American Music Club
"San Francisco" (1994)
Prompted by PatK listening yesterday.
Singer/songwriter Mark Eitzel and his band.
Caribou - Our Love
Very thoughtfully and gentle played piece of music, definitely recommended. Looks like Jonathan has real insight in this music.....
One of my better buys recently...
Daphni
"Jiaolong" (2012)
The same primary musician (Daniel Snaith) as in Caribou, in a dance oriented project, suggestion prompted by Rob (hope that is right, member name dry_stone).
The Greenhornes - The Greenhornes
Released in 2001. Garage rock.

In a moment of Music Room serendipity Jeff.... this evening I have been listening to Radiohead's TKOL RMX 1234567 (Remixes of their 2011 The King of Limbs album).
The first track is a remix of "Little by Little" by Dan Snaith of Caribou.

Justin Sullivan (New Model Army)
"Green"
From his solo release "Navigating By The Stars" , I think this is an awesome track:

Well, since it is John Lewis day:
Listening to him on his MJQ recordings, he always seemed to be mostly concerned with pace, keeping it or setting it, threading the keys quite lightly, careful not to overshadow his quartet's counterparts.
Here he has more of a free range, his piano becoming more dynamic, his playing less measured and more spontaneous. Evolution 2 is one of these rare occasions where second installment surpasses the original one.

Comment from the source:
"The first of an occasional series of live recordings from London’s Kings Place, Roddy Woomble (Idlewild) and his band make the most of the bespoke acoustics playing a lively set mixing folk and Americana with ease showcasing Woomble’s evocative vocals and consummate gift for a tune."
On vinyl-1979. US white label promo pressing.
2013. Nice singer-writer with a very lovely voice. On vinyl.
Return to Forever's 3rd album ( Polydor release ) is much more accessible than their debut ECM self titled release.
Most of the tunes in this albums are more mainstream grooves and contains my favourite Spain.
On the MFSL vinyl pressing, No. 0171. 1994 reissue of the classic 1987 Hiatt album with Ry Cooder, Nick Lowe and Jim Keltner backing John H.

Comment from the source:
"Roller Trio are James Mainwairing tenor sax and electronics, Luke Wynter guitar and Luke Reddin-Williams on drums, still in their early ‘20s they met whilst studying at Leeds College of Music. Influenced by a wide range of music from Tim Berne, Chris Potter and Anthony Braxton to Queens of the Stone Age, Soundgarden, Slum Village, J Dilla and Flying Lotus as well as the vibrant Leeds scene.
Their music is a fresh, visceral stew of conventional and experimental sounds that features stonking riffs, thrashy noise, evocative songs and electronic soundscapes. Incubated in mammoth improvisation sessions, their music is delivered with a captivating swagger and greedy energy that is utterly beguiling and packs a powerful punch. Their riveting debut album, Roller Trio, was a Mercury Music Prize album of the year 2012."
I'm not sure if I can endorse all the above. Is not my type of music. I would do an effort to continue listening up to the end of the album. May be other members of the forum like and enjoy this music.
Lonnie Johnson w/ Elmer Snowden - Blues & Ballads
